YTMP3 Mac Guide
Converting on a Mac takes seconds in Safari or Chrome, and getting the MP3 into your Music app library is a drag-and-drop. Mac-specific steps below; the general desktop walkthrough is at YTMP3 desktop guide.
Convert in Safari or Chrome
- Copy the YouTube link (Share, Copy link in the app, or the address bar on desktop).
- Open ytmp3.downloaderyt.com in Safari or Chrome.
- Paste the link, pick 128 or 320 kbps, hit Convert.
- Click Download. The MP3 lands in your Downloads folder (Finder sidebar).
In Safari, the download icon in the toolbar shows progress; click the magnifying glass to reveal the file in Finder.
Import into the Music app
- Open the Music app.
- Drag the MP3 from Finder into the Music window, or use File, then Import.
- The track joins your library. With syncing enabled, it appears on your iPhone too.
Mac tips
- Spotlight it. Press Cmd+Space and type the song name to find downloads instantly.
- Rename in Finder. Converter filenames are functional, not pretty; rename before importing.
- Quick Look. Select the file and press Space to preview audio without opening an app.
